Ministry of Defence is investigating fraud in ICT projects

The Ministry of Defence will conduct an investigation to determine whether a fraud was committed with ICT projects. Large amounts were paid in the tender for hiring of third parties. The ICT policy of the government is under fire for some time.

Hennis Minister of Defence has announced that the study is coming, says the NOS. We will specifically look at the procurement of various ICT projects within defense. According to the minister, there is a chance that there is fraud. There have been reports received that indicate that there have been in recent years considerable sums spent to hire a third party to set up ICT projects.

It has long been known that the Dutch government annually wasted a lot of money in setting up ICT projects: a study led by a parliamentary committee had seen that it is an amount between one and five billion euros. Incidentally started the OM and the Authority for Consumers and Markets already an investigation into possible price fixing in the ICT sector.
