Mobile mobagame Vainglory makes clients available for Mac and Windows

Super Evil Megacorp, the company behind the mobile mobagame Vainglory, has announced that it will make the Android and iOS game playable on PC and Mac. It has made alphabuilds available for these platforms.

In an announcement , the company writes that thanks to its so-called Evil engine, it was able to release the game for Mac and PC. Super Evil Megacorp emphasizes that it is an early version; for example, improvements are still needed in the field of entering text, settings, user interface, key binding and adjusting inputs. The company promises regular updates in the coming months.

In a corresponding faq Super Evil Megacorp mentions that desktop players will play together with mobile players, which means that there is no separate matchmaking . It has not published any specification requirements, but expects the game to be playable on most systems. Purchases are not working on the desktop yet; for this, players must first log in on their mobile again.

Vainglory is a mobagame that in terms of gameplay is somewhat comparable to League of Legends and Dota 2. There are different modes, such as a five-to-five mode in which the player can choose between different characters. The game came out in 2014 for iOS and a year later for Android. Meanwhile, the counter on that last platform is on more than ten million downloads. Mac and Windows clients can be downloaded from the Vainglory site.
