Moore’s Law: Can life be older than the Earth itself?

As long as life has evolved, its complexity has grown exponentially, as if Moore’s Law, which says that the number of transistors on an integrated circuit doubles every two years. Alexei Sharov genetics at the National Institute on Aging in Baltimore, and Richard Gordon of the Naval Research Laboratory in Florida have applied the law in regard to biology and found that Moore’s law , life is older than the Earth itself.

Command monitored the Moore’s law down to zero and the origin of life measuring complexity of life and the speed with which it evolved from prokaryotes to eukaryotes and to more sophisticated creatures like worms, fish, amphibians and mammals eventually. The result was an exponential growth that is identical to Moore’s Law with a doubling, but instead of two phase lasts 376 million years.

The team found that if you believe the reverse scale of Moore’s law in regard to the development of life, it appeared 9.7 billion years ago. Cosmic time scale of evolution has important consequences: five billion years for life to achieve the complexity of the bacteria, the same conditions in which life has evolved to prokaryotes, may be different from what we’ve seen on Earth. Scientists have suggested that if life took 10 billion years to evolve, we can be one of the first, if not the first intelligent civilization in the Milky Way, thereby reducing the Drake equation to zero.

In addition, the scientists suggest that the evolution of advanced organisms is accelerating the development of additional information processing systems: the epigenetic memory primitive mind, multicellular brain, language, books, computers and the Internet. As a result of the doubling time reached step 20.

Balls and Gordon also believe that our solar nebula formed from the remnants of the older stars, and therefore the life of this period could be stored in the original cloud of gas, dust and ice. Life on Earth can be a form of cosmic panspermia – the continuation of a process that started many billions of years before the formation of our solar system.
