‘Moot’ 4chan sells to Japanese

The popular community website 4chan gets Hiroyuki Nishimura with a new owner. He succeeds Christopher Poole, aka moot, for which earlier this year announced that it will stop at the site. What is being paid for 4chan is not known.

On the news of 4chan is moot let know which Nishimura is now the owner has become. In a posting explains the founder that he Nishimura for several years and knows that he was the inspiration for building 4chan. The Japanese is actually the founder of the anonymous community website 2channel that has existed since 1999. It can therefore be seen as the “grandfather of 4chan”, says Moot, and therefore seems the ideal candidate to take over the site. Nishimura’s plans are not yet known.

In January gave moot all that he would say goodbye to 4chan, therefore making it still has some time passed before the successor took over the baton. It is unclear what that reason is, but moot suggested in recent times to have many responsibilities ceded to a group of volunteers. That team was also responsible for the transition to a new leader of the site.

The community website was founded in 2003 and quickly became popular. Meanwhile, there are nearly two billion messages posted on 4chan. Incidentally, the site was also frequently negative news, including the distribution of child pornography and nude pictures of celebrities. There were also coordinated from 4chan hack attacks, including by the semi-permanent connection Anonymous hackers
