More than half the world’s Internet traffic is generated bots
Billions of people around the world every day pumped huge amounts of Internet traffic visiting various sites, downloading software, music, movies, playing games . But, according to the company Incaplsula, the share of “human” traffic is less than forty percent of the global volume of data transmitted.
Incaplsula company claims that the proportion of Internet traffic generated by various network robots in 2013 totaled 61.5%. It is worth noting that last year the figure was 51%. But as representatives of the company, the share of traffic has increased due to “safe” robots, which include, for example, search engines, visiting sites for indexing.
The share of search engines account for 31% of all transmitted data on the web. The second highest number of traffic generated occupied robots who are trying to pretend people (DDoS-agents, network spies and infected browsers). A fairly large proportion of so-called web take skreypery – bots that automatically replicate content sites to create duplicates and extract the different materials.
It should be noted that the share of bots spammers decreased from 2% in 2012 to 0.5% in 2013-th. Such indicators largely been achieved through the input algorithm Penguin from Google .
Data collection lasted for three months, and during this period was 1.5 billion visits tracked bots on more than 20 000 sites.
