Moto 360 became the most popular smart-hours in 2014

Although the supply of “smart” Moto 360 hours from Motorola and were limited for the IV quarter, the company managed to become a leading manufacturer of portable devices on the Android Wear. Such information is given in the report to analyst firm Canalys.

In 2014, the producers put on the market more than 720,000 devices on the platform Android Wear, while the total for this period were produced 4.6 million wearable devices. The second most popular model of smart watches are G Watch R by the South Korean LG. Chinese Xiaomi shipped over one million units of its affordable bracelet Mi Band, 103,000 of which were sold in just a day.

It is worth noting that, while Sony, LG, Motorola and Asus are already using Android Wear for its “smart” watches, Samsung, HTC and some Chinese vendors are not in a hurry to use the operating system Google, designed specifically for wearable electronics. Instead, they prepared the clock on their own platforms.

Lack of effective ecosystem and interface in Chinese are the main reasons why companies from HTC and China are developing their own platform for handheld devices. In particular, before it became known that the “smart” watches HTC Petra will work on real time operating system (RTOS), which was developed by Taiwan’s own.

Samsung is currently focused on developing smart watches and bracelets based Tizen. And LG, in turn, later going to introduce into their devices WebOS, which is already used in smart TVs.

In April of this year, will go on sale Apple Watch – smart watches, which are the most promising product in this market. JP Morgan analysts believe that at least 5% of iPhone owners buy Apple clock until the end of the year. If this is true, then at the end of 2015 they will disperse 26 million copies. The share of the cheapest Apple Watch Sport models cost $ 349 will have 95% of all sales of Apple Watch, observers believe.
