Mozilla shows details Chirimen single board computer with Firefox OS
Mozilla has announced the details of its own single board computer: Chirimen. The computer developed by MozOpenHard and is designed for developers working on iot products.
The Chirimen works on Firefox OS and is developed together with dedicated web APIs that allow users to control the hardware through the i2c and gpio header. This must probably be possible to control the computer via Firefox OS with hardware that is present in the Chirimen, since the developers show the web APIs of I2C and GPIO to extend for the control of devices.
The single board computer features a RK3066-soc and 1GB DDR3 RAM. Also, the Chirimen 1GB flash memory, it provides space for a micro SD card, two micro USB ports and one USB port. He also has a micro-HDMI port, two UART and two spi controller interfaces. Further, the computer uses pulse width modulation for information transmission. Wifi is not implemented by default, but can be added through the use of a USB Wi-Fi adapter.
