MSI releases bios updates with Core i-9000 support for Z370 motherboards




MSI comes with biosupdates for its Z370 motherboards, adding support for the upcoming Intel Core i-9000 processors. Intel has not yet announced those chips. Presumably the first three cpu’s will be released in October.

MSI biosupdates On its website MSI mentions fifteen Z370 motherboards for which a new biosupate is released. New is the support for Core i-9000 processors. Users can download the new bios via the support pages of the respective motherboards, but the downloads are not yet available at the time of writing.

On Wednesday, roadmaps revealed that Intel is likely to release the first three cpu’s in that series in October. It is the Coffee Lake-S Refresh generation. In the Core i-9000 series, octacores are coming for the first time to Intel’s mainstream platform. The top model, the Core i9-9900K, has eight cores and sixteen threads.

Intel, along with the arrival of the new processors, will release the Z390 chipset with some improvements, but users of a Z370 motherboard are not required to upgrade.
