MWC | Samsung introduced the eight-and six-core mobile processors

The exhibition MWC-2014 Samsung has introduced two new mobile series chipset Exynos. First crystal – this eight-Exynos 5422, the second – the six-core Exynos 5260 chip. If you are wondering about where the South Korean company also promised 64-bit mobile processors, then hurry to announce that the company is not yet ready to provide them.

Crystal Exynos 5422 is based on the same architecture, which is built on the basis of the chip Exynos 5420 ( Samsung Galaxy Note 3 , Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition) and has eight cores: four large ARM Cortex A15 at up to 2.1 GHz and four small ARM Cortex A7, operating at frequencies up to 1.5 GHz and intended for use in lightweight tasks. According to the company Samsung, the new processor is 34 percent more productive than earlier versions Exynos.

The new chipset uses Samsung big.LITTLE HMP (Heterogeneous Multi Processing), which allows you to use all eight cores simultaneously and not consume so much battery power. In other words, the chip provides more performance at relatively the same cost battery. In addition, the new processor has support for higher resolution screens, ranging from 2560 x 1440 pixels or higher.

“To support higher resolution displays that require more power and performance of the processor, such as WQHD (2560 x 1440) and WQXGA (2560 x 1600), Samsung adapts new technologies mobile image compression (MIC) and adaptive technology hibernation. When using technology MIC, the displayed data is compressed by half and minimize the memory bandwidth requirements, using only four lines specification MIPI (Mobile Industry Processor Interface) ».

“Secondly, Samsung also introduces a new six-core Exynos 5260 chipset, which has six core CPU: two high-performance ARM Cortex A15, clocked at 1.7 GHz, and four low-power ARM Cortex A7, running at 1.3 GHz. This processor also uses technology big.LITTLE HMP to provide a higher level of performance compared to previous series crystals Exynos ».

What does all this mean for ordinary consumers, that is for you and me? This may mean that we may expect to see on the market a new model announced its flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S5, working on the new Exynos 5422.
