Find a Question:
NASA is considering mission to moon Europa
NASA would consider a mission to Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons, to perform. That would release a lander to the surface of the moon can be sent to research in Europe to do so.
The u.s. Space Agency would with a physical presence on the Jupiter moon Europe want to investigate or possibly habitable. A Lunar Lander would samples of the surface at various depths need to take and analyze this. That’s with a satellite into orbit around the Moon not possible. For a mission to the surface of the largely ice-covered moon can be performed, however, extensive research would be required.
So a suitable landing site should be laid down, which have relatively small exposure to radiation. Europe is also interesting as research object because the moon can accommodate life possible. Under the surface-ice would be a sea of liquid water present, which is often seen as a prerequisite for life. A lander that would the composition of water, including any nutrients and energy sources, can analyze.
The hypothetical lander would include tools for mass spectroscopy, seismological equipment and various cameras and microscopes on board.
