Nest and Google announce Brillo and Weave for iot applications
Google has announced with developers Nest Brillo, a stripped down OS for internet-of-things-hardware. In addition, Google comes with Weave, a communication layer to allow hardware on the basis of Brillo communicate with, among other Android devices.
Brillo is based on Android and mainly contains the basic building blocks of this OS. There is a kernel and a hardware abstraction layer, while some security elements are taken from Android Brillo. On top had Weave rotate, a cross-platform and open communication layer for internet-of-things-hardware.
Standard supports Brillo, where Google developers with developers Nest worked on, wifi and bluetooth low energy. This should make it easier for developers to incorporate wireless technology into their software. In addition, Android devices running on the basis of Brillo automatically recognize using Weave, after the iot hardware can be controlled for example via a smartphone.
Brillo comes as a developer preview in the third quarter of this year. Weave in turn, will be available to developers in the last quarter of 2015.Viewing:-194
