New virus attacks users WireLurker Mac, iPhone and iPad in China
Cybersecurity Experts from the company Palo Alto Networks found a virus that attacks the device from Apple, including smart phones iPhone, Tablet iPad, PC Mac, reports The Financial Times.
Virus, called WireLurker, the device may be infected hundreds of thousands of users of the products Apple, said in a research report Palo Alto Networks. It spread as a result of a number of targeted attacks on iCloud cloud service in China, almost immediately after the start of sales of the new version of the iPhone 6 in the country. Currently more than 400 infected applications have been downloaded more than 350,000 times.
According to Palo Alto Networks, in computers and laptops “malware” comes through applications downloaded via a third-party application store for Mac – Chinese site Maiyadi. The virus is spread from one device to another when an infected Mac via USB-cable connects your iPhone or iPad.
“This malware is still under active development, and the ultimate goal of its creators is not yet clear,” – said the head of the company’s Palo Alto Networks. According to experts, WireLurker regularly requests updates from intruders.
Apple has not been able to quickly comment on the information about the new form of computer virus.
Recall that in October 2014 the “cloud” iCloud service in China was attacked by hackers , who tried to steal user information.
According to the Chinese group web monitoring Greatfire, hackers intercept the data and could potentially gain access to passwords, messages, photos and contact members. The media then there were rumors that the government is behind this country, but the official Beijing has denied any involvement in the incident.
