Killswitch for Korean smartphones

The Korean government has caused to the domestic manufacturers such as LG and Samsung will have to install a so-called “kill switch” on their smartphones. If someone stole his phone, he can do it from a distance so useless. The thief can not start the device or format and thus has no way to use it anyway – the smartphone will be absolutely useless.

From the second quarter of 2014, it is mandatory, but already soon LG and Samsung are already implement this feature in their devices, while the Pantech Killswitch feature even starts.

Me: Well-intentioned feature, but which I can not imagine that this abuse is not operated. I do not know how many smartphones are thus killed accidentally. And I personally bring a disabled device as nothing more, even if the thief can do anything with it.

Already since a few days we have again increased rumors of a new LG Tablet LG G is called pad. From Korea confirmed the leaked specifications and a little extended. We hope is that the G pad at the IFA or the LG press event presented just before the IFA.

Me: could not tear out trees LG to date on the tablet market. However, the long time no longer was true for smartphones, where you get the curve in recent years. Reason enough to hope for a decent tablet, which goes down well with customers.

Samsung Galaxy Snapdragon S4 with 800 at the FCC

We’ve known for some time that Samsung would like to equip the Galaxy S4 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and now the device appears with this processor with the U.S. FCC on. It differs, as we already knew just by the processor and the supporting LTE-A from the other models and will be available in Germany. Also with this device, we expect a presentation at the IFA in Berlin.

Me: With the LTE-A module there is a legitimate reason why Samsung again nachbessert and installed another processor. However, I understand the anger of the people who have just bought a Galaxy S4 for a lot of money and now have to realize that there is to purchase the same device with better specs.

Microsoft warns of security holes in Windows XP

Amazingly, the already released in 2001 Windows XP pleased still with very many Windows users very popular and is still used. Microsoft has repeatedly extended due to the popularity of these periods in which the system supports you with updates and supported. So now but soon concluded from the 8th April 2014 there will be no technical support, no security updates and more updates. Therefore, Microsoft warns now warning that it will come here to problems in security. As with the newer Windows systems, you will also discover here still gaps that unlike Windows 7 and Windows 8 no longer be closed, however.

Me: It is understandable that Microsoft here sometime pulls the plug, and after is not supported by many other manufacturers Windows XP should see slow that it’s time for a new operating system, the most loyal fans.
