little surprise for Windows Phone users, the dominions of Next Cloud freshly pulled out of a hat: How known , today announced the official Next Cloud Client for Windows Mobile has been released as part of a community project. After the variants for Android and iOS, users of Windows Phone now have the opportunity to use their private cloud via their smartphone. At this point, however, it should be mentioned that Nextcloud is definitely calling to test the client currently in an alpha phase. The result of the client’s cooperation with programmers André Fiedler and in version 1.0.2 has a fine character, in which direction the app can develop.

The functionality is currently limited: You can load files from the cloud and into the cloud, create folders and display various information like free space. It also promises a complete integration into the other Windows Mobile apps and also optically adapts to the client to your system look. This is at least the first fragrance brand set and one saves itself annoying detours via the browser. Programmer André Fiedler is currently working on version 1.1.0, which will allow you to rename and move files and directories, as well as attaching individual folders or files as a tile on the start screen.

The development is also heading towards UWP, so the app will run on all compatible systems thanks to the universal Windows platform. André Fiedler estimates 99 Cent for the app and wants to compensate for his time and running costs: for a person who wants to use the app productively, a fair offer, as I find! Alternatively, it is also granted to anyone, the app source code via GitHub to load and then to compile it yourself, because the whole project is open source.

The roadmap for the upcoming release also includes the automatic photo upload, the support of several Nextcloud accounts or the download of whole folders as ZIP archive.
