Find a Question:
Nintendo announced the official app for iPhone
Many fans of the popular series of games Mario, Pokemon or Zelda wonder why Nintendo did not hurry to release their games for mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets – because it is clear that many would be happy to play them. However, the policy Nintendo is different – the company aims to produce games available exclusively on its devices, thereby supporting the sale of his playing electronics.
One way or another, but Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has announced its own mobile app Mii. Analysts regard this as the first step toward creating a full game releases for smartphones. The app will allow import Mii avatars game users to social networks, which, according to Satoru Iwata, should increase interest in the company’s consoles.
At this stage, Nintendo interest to mobile platforms mainly intended to promote their own games and game brands. For example, the launch last year Camp Pokemon is rather a supplement to the main games Pokemon, than an independent project.
Iwata once again confirmed his prejudice in relation to game releases for iOS and Android. One reason for the reluctance to release them on mobile platforms called the head of Nintendo constantly falling prices in this segment.
Run the application Mii originally planned in 2014, but the Japanese company decided that the product requires refinement, so that the output has been postponed for the current year. Release date of the project has not been named.
Last year, investors Nintendo turned to its leadership with the official letter calling on the company to start developing games and applications for mobile platforms. Seth Fisher, chief investment fund Oasis Management, wrote to the Director General of Nintendo Satoru Iwata open letter in which he proposed as soon as possible to begin selling mobile versions of its products for iOS and Android.
Satoru Iwata said then that create their own games and hit transfer projects on iOS and Android the company does not intend to.
