Nintendo makes Mii app for mobile devices




Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced that his company makes an app for phones and tablets which are central Miis, the avatars that players can use in various Nintendo games. When the app comes on the market, is not known.

In an interview with Japan’s Nikkei late Iwata hinted that Nintendo has an app in production that allows gamers to use their Mii avatar in social media. The app will soon be officially announced, according to Iwata. Where the app can be used and whether fans should pay for it, is unknown.

Iwata made in the same interview again clear that he is not in favor of developing games for mobile platforms. “The prices for products aimed at smartphones and tablets fall quickly. That’s why I’m still cautious about the category.” The Mii app hopes to cater to the needs of Iwata players’ to identify with Nintendo products. The director also hopes the app leads more people to play Nintendo games.
