Nintendo will focus in 2016 on the launch of smartphone apps

Nintendo has given information about the plans it has for this year. The company plans to release a number of smartphone applications with Nintendo characters. Many details are not there, but the first new app to be released in March.

Tatsumi Kimishima That said Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima in an interview with the Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun. According to the CEO there in recent times worked hard on smartphone applications, the intention is that the software will be released this year. The first application for release in March, but the exact content is still unclear, though Kimishima suggests that using “points can be earned.” It is intended that classic Nintendo characters will make their appearance in the apps coming out this year.

Furthermore, Nintendo will this year give more details on the new NX-game consoles. Because Kimishima only talks about giving information, and does not have a release, it is unclear whether the console released in 2016, as previously rumored was reported. According Kimishima is for NX uses an entirely new concept, and not build on existing consoles, all were given no further details. Finally, the Nintendo CEO states that talks with companies about bringing Nintendo content to movies, series and amusement parks. Nintendo had previously announced that it had such plans.

New sources of revenue must be tapped with the plans for 2016. Nintendo has to do for some time with disappointing results, and therefore tries to set up a new business with more diverse income.
