Nissan shows electric car racing ZEOD RC

The Japanese company Nissan has decided to join the race for the title of the fastest electric car in the world . Currently, Nissan has unveiled its new project called ZEOD RC (Zero Emission On Demand Racing Car). Electric racing car Nissan ZEOD RC will take part in the 24-hour race at the world-famed for the town of Le Mans next year.

Externally, the new looks quite impressive, but what is hidden under the “smooth skin” electric vehicle is currently unknown. In truth, the application of Nissan for the title of the fastest racing electric car does not look very confident enough to remember Venturi Jamais Contente , reach speeds of 600 km / h, but Nissan has another year to rectify the situation.

The car will be announced in the category Garage 56, created specifically for the experimental prototype and will not be eligible to win the overall classification.

Last year in the same category debuted model Nissan Deltawing, aerodynamic design of which was inspired by Nissan to build ZEOD RC. A racing car Nissan Deltawing fared well in the past year, but 75 range prototype Toyota TS030 Hybrid while trying to overtake Deltawing ruled off the track and he was in the concrete wall.
It is worth noting that ZEOD RC also designed by Ben Bowlby.

Nissan engineers team to be a difficult task – to develop a battery that will last for the 24-hour race. Name Zero Emission On Demand shows that the car is fully electric, it will be a kind of gas-electric hybrid.

The main objective of the project ZEOD RC is the development of technologies that may in the future be used to build the car LMP1 class and the return of Nissan to the track.
