NL Alert now works over 3G network of Vodafone




Vodafone has announced that the alarm NL Alert now operates through its 3G network. Earlier, the telecom provider still problems with the system, use of cell broadcasting made by Vodafone for reboots on some smartphones.

That says Vodafone on its website. According to the telecom provider has recently worked with device manufacturers to reboot problems with cell broadcasting to solve. NL Alert, which uses cell broadcasting technology, thus now also works on the 3G network of Vodafone. This follows the telco KPN and T-Mobile, who had previously done. Although NL Alert already worked through the 2G network, users had to first switch manually if they were in an area with 3G reception. So this is no longer necessary.

Previously showed that most all devices EN Alert can receive, though many users are not enabled. Incidentally, Apple iPhones and Nokia Lumia devices still do not support cell broadcasting, allowing users of these mobile devices can receive. No NL-Alert messages

The NL-Alert alarm system is used by the government to send emergency messages, which are not sent through the normal SMS traffic, which can be used as the networks are flat instance by overloading the messages received.
