Noctua comes with two 5V variants of 60mm fan
Noctua, the Austrian manufacturer of fans, comes with two new 5V models in 60mm version. There is a model with a fixed rotation speed and a variant with PWM. Noctua says will soon bring out more 5V fans.
The NF-A6x25 5V rotates at a fixed speed of 3000rpm. The speed of the NF-A6x25 5V PWM with 4-pin connector is variable between 650 and 3000rpm. For both fans, which are 25mm high, there is a maximum noise level of 19.3 decibels according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The new fans are based on existing 12V variant of the NF-A6x25.
5V fans can not be connected to fanheaders regular motherboards. According to Noctua rising demand for small 5V fans. These are widely used by the manufacturer to replace the noisy fans in nas’en and switches, or computer boards like Raspberry Pi cool. Previously released Noctua an 40mm fan with 5V jack off.
Noctua supplies 5V fans with a Join Omni Adapter Set, “a kit that should make it possible to connect the fans to proprietary connectors from said devices. The adapter also includes a diode for polarity protection so that users are safe as they connect the fan accidentally reversed polarity.
The MSRP of fans for both versions 14.90 euros. According to Noctua fans currently delivered and they will soon be available in stores. Simultaneously with the announcement of two 60mm models says Noctua that there will soon be more 5V fans. Which sizes get new fans, is not yet known.
