Nokia announces Android tablet on N1




Nokia has announced its first Android tablet. The N1-tablet has a 7.9 “screen, an Intel Atom processor and 2GB of RAM. The tablet features Z Launcher, a launcher application that was developed by the Finnish company itself.

The 7.9 “-ips panel offers a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels and is reinforced with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. Nokia has the N1 equipped with an Intel Atom Z3580 clocked at 2.3GHz, a quad-core 64bit soc. Also, a PowerVR G6430 GPU included in the soc. The tablet has 2GB RAM lpddr3 placed along with 32GB flash storage.

The 318 gram N1 6,9mm thick. On the back is an 8 megapixel camera is present, on the front a 5-megapixel camera can be found, along with two 0.5W speakertjes. The housing is constructed on the basis of anodized aluminum. In the housing is a 5300mAh battery integrated. For communication with 802.11ac WiFi Internet is available, while Bluetooth 4.0 is not lacking. It is also striking that the tablet has a USB connector that is suitable for reversible USB cables.

Nokia shows the N1 running Android 5.0 Lollipop and has been equipped with its proprietary Z Launcher . Nokia will launch the N1 early next year. In China, the tablet would have a price tag of $ 250, converted 200 euros. Other markets, including Europe and the US should follow, but a time indication Nokia does not yet.

The tablet is built by a Nokia unnamed OEM partner. According to FT, however, it is Foxconn . These OEM, which also builds the iPad for Apple, Nokia has been the brand name under license and will both sell the N1 as the support to begin handling users.
