Nokia completes acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent off

Nokia has received approval from the French AFM or AMF to almost 80 percent of the Alcatel-Lucent shares take. The acquisition should be completed on 14 January.

Alcatel-Lucent This makes the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent by Nokia as well as around. The acquisition is a sum of 15.6 billion euros and involved Nokia gets 79.32 percent of the shares. From now on Nokia may sell the remaining shares current shareholders.

In a message on the website of Nokia says Rajeev Suri pleased that the deal has gone through. From 14 January, both companies have to offer joint products and services. With this acquisition Nokia will strengthen its position in relation to Ericsson and Huawei in the market of telecommunication networks.

Alcatel-Lucent is best known as a producer of network equipment, mainly for putting down mobile networks. The takeover creates a large European telecommunications company with forty research associates and an R & D budget of 4.7 billion euros. The company continues under the name of Nokia Corporation. The Finnish company establish a fund with a budget of one hundred million euro for start-ups in France in the field of internet-of-things. There will also be a research department in France in the field of digital security
