NPO app adds support for Chromecast




NPO has added in version 2.0 of its eponymous mobile app for Android support Chromecast. This allows TV programs on a TV in which a Chromecast dongle is pricked.

Dutch Public Broadcasting had already hinted in October last year that it Chromecast functionality wild in the then Uitzendinggemist app record . After more than a year, the integration is complete, holders of a Chromecast dongle can now TV programs on a TV Uitzendinggemist open after installing the NPO app version 2.0.

In order to utilize the Chromecast functionality is a phone or smartphone with Android 4.x needed. When Chromecast will pop up in the iOS version of NPO app is not yet clear: the current version in the App Store provides this feature yet.

Besides the new Chromecast support can NPO App 2.0 now also be used as a remote control for the paid NPO Plus service offered via HbbTV. NPO Plus, according to the public broadcaster to “technical reasons” not yet available on the Samsung Galaxy S4.
