NS gets in “coming months” at about 4g for wifi in the train

The NS will soon move to 4G connectivity for its Wi-Fi service on the train. The public transport provider thereby hopes to put an end to the bad connections in the train. It is not known what is the NS provider in the sea.

WiFi in the train The NS is negotiating with a provider to connect routers trains on the 4G network. The company hopes sometime in the coming months to reach an agreement. To which provider is involved, the NS is not known. The current “Wifi in the walk trein’ connections via 3G from T-Mobile. At stations KPN provides wireless networks. NS wants for both services the same provider .

NS spokesman Eric Trinthamer confirmed across the BNR step. The NS has been offering since 2010 free wifi in the train, but users complain about slow connections, and often can not get on the Internet at all. “The capacity is quickly flooded, making it succumbed to its own success,” says Trinthamer. NS gives every passenger the same bandwidth to prevent overloading. “But we really need a step further,” said the spokesman.
