Number MyPrime users Ziggo increases to a quarter million
The video-on-demand service Ziggo, MyPrime had in September, more than 250,000 active users. That is an increase of 50,000 compared with the previous quarter. Ziggo is still struggling as in previous quarters with an exodus in terms of total customers.
In June Ziggo still had 200,000 active users MyPrime, but that has now risen to 250,000. Ziggo competes with its services including Netflix and Videoland. Videoland had in March this year to 100,000 paying subscribers, the number of Dutch Netflix customers is estimated at over one million. MyPrime is standard in the Connect & Play Complete- and Max packages of Ziggo and is also taking off loosely for 6.95 euros per month.
The Horizon Go service, for watching TV on tablets and smartphones is growing: a quarter ago, the service 500 000 unique users, which has now risen to 700,000. MyPrime would now be responsible for two-thirds of the video-on-demand streams on Horizon Go. Horizon TV now has a total of 565 000 subscribers, an increase of 128 000 compared to the previous quarter. Mobile volunteered Although 2,000 new customers, bringing the total now stands at 181 000, but the number of fixed telephony customers fell by 3700 to 2.55 million.
The total number of customers of the provider took off again, with 43 600 to 4.14 million. Especially left TV customers and Ziggo also mentions the price increase which was implemented on 1 July at the former UPC customers as the reason. The company introduces a new sports channel for clients, named Ziggo Sport, in order to prevent the number of customers decreases to less than 4 million.
