Number of Internet purchases Belgium up 7 percent

Belgians in the first quarter of 2016, seven percent done more online purchases than in the same period last year. Thereby increased the total amount they are spending by nine percent. They bought mainly of media and entertainment products over the internet.

On average, the Belgian consumer purchases in the quarter 3.1 times, which was issued on average 326 euros. Last year there were 2.9 times buy online for 306 euros. Most purchases were made with laptops, but mobile purchases are on the rise. Meanwhile expires one in six purchases via a smartphone or tablet, where it was one of the eight last year. The use of credit fell slightly, from 53 to 51 percent. Using Bancontact increased from 40 to 45 percent.
