Number of Windows 8.1 increases at the expense of Windows XP

Are many Windows 8 users in the last month and increasing the Windows XP share of the market fell for operating systems. Approximately 16.8 percent of Internet users now have a system with Windows 8 or higher.

It appears from the figures from Net Applications, which tracks statistics on a large number of websites, as noted by Cnet. On the market for operating systems Windows 7 remains by far the largest, with a share of 53.05 percent. That share is largely unchanged in recent months. In October, however, a shift in the number of users of Windows 8 and higher. Meanwhile, Windows 8 has a share of 5.88 percent and Windows 8.1 a share of 10.92 percent. Together makes 16,80 percent. That is an increase of 3.54 percentage points in a month.

The growth of Windows 8 and above seems to have gone largely at the expense of Windows XP. Which saw its share decline in October to 17.18 percent, while it was 23.87 percent a month earlier. This is Windows 8 and higher, so even slightly smaller in market share than Windows XP. Furthermore, the proportion of OS X light and won the ‘other’ category, fell under other Linux distributions, a little to share.

In recent months, Windows 8 and above barely recorded growth in the market for operating systems. Compared with August, in September even noted a decline in market share. The sudden shift indicates that many users have upgraded their system from Windows XP to Windows 8.1.
