Nvidia GTX 1070 and 1080 Review – Graphic calculating prodigies at 16nm
In late May Nvidia introduced its first graphics cards of the new generation: the GTX 1070 and 1080. The new generation is enabled by AMD and Nvidia to create their GPUs could switch to a smaller process. AMD has already announced the new RX480, but it’s Nvidia that draws the longest straw and its new graphics cards, the GTX 1070 and 1080, actually on the shelves.
Both the 1070 GTX and the 1080 appears in a Founders Edition, equipped with Nvidia’s reference cooler, but obviously all manufacturers build their own video cards, with their own coolers, around the new chips. MSI we received the Gaming X versions of the GTX 1070 and 1080, which are standard overclocked and feature the distinctive TwinFrozr cooler.
We’ve obviously looked at the new Pascal GPU, the speed in several games tested and the fan sound measured to see if Pascal worth the upgrade is worth it.
