Nvidia GTX 960 Round-up – Midrange graphics cards separately and tested in SLI

Then in September, Nvidia released GTX 970 and 980 we were, to be honest, quite impressed. The chip designer had it done to design a less complex and more economical chip on the same 28nm process than the previous top model, the GK110. The number of transistors went from roughly seven billion to five billion, the number went Cuda cores from 2880 to 2048 and the GTX 980 turned out to be faster than the GTX 780 Ti.

Nice work from Nvidia, but with a price of 350 euros for the GTX 970 and 550 euros for the GTX 980, the new topkaarten not for everyone. Many gamers will therefore eagerly awaited to have an Nvidia card that Maxwell is more affordable. The wait is now over, because Nvidia announced the GeForce GTX 960, which is based on the Maxwell architecture and a suggested retail price of 209 euros inherits.

Tweakers has obviously managed to get some GTX 960 cards. Asus GTX 960 we borrowed the Strix and Gigabyte sent us the top model in its series, the GTX 960 G1 Gaming. MSI even knew us with two overclocked GTX 960 Gaming graphics cards, so we also can test how the GTX 960 performs in SLI.
