Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat
, Honeywell has introduced a new version of its smart thermostat Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat. Engineers have learned to understand and implement a novelty voice commands. And it’s all thanks to a hosted cloud service speech recognition system. Apparently, the voice interface technology is the future. It is rumored that even Microsoft shows interest in them .
Resource Electronista notes some of the technical features of new items. The device is able to ignore background noise and interpret the commands. Communication with him begins with the words: «Hello, thermostat» («Hello, thermostat”). These words trigger the perception of the device for further instructions. If a person orders: «Make it warmer» («Do warmer”), the thermostat will raise the temperature by one degree. This likely is a Fahrenheit.
If the thermostat will hear the words: «Make it much warmer» («Do considerably warmer”), the temperature is four degrees. If these expressions to replace the word “warmer” to “colder”, then the temperature will be reduced by the corresponding number of degrees.
Thermostat is able to understand and perform a more complex commands, “lower the temperature by six degrees» («Make it six degrees cooler»). He knows how to react to the saying “I’m hot” and “I’m cold.”
The thermostat has a customizable color touch screen, based on the technology of Honeywell Smart Response. A feature of this technology is to monitor the temperature and the ability to remotely control the device using a smart phone that is running a special application. Available thermostat with voice control will be in November 2013 at the price of 349 U.S. dollars.
I wonder if the thermostat is able to understand the English language only competent team or lent to one of the local dialects , too, is it properly understood and implemented?
