testing involved three assistant – Siri, Google Now and Cortana

Apple continues to improve voice assistant Siri. The operating system iOS 8 personal assistant a better understanding of voice calls and more accurate in their responses, officials say Stone Temple Consulting, who conducted a comparison function with Google Now. Nevertheless competitor from Google does a better job with the answers to these questions.

In testing involved three assistant – Siri, Google Now and Cortana. At Microsoft, we recall, positioning its technology as a specific mix of functions previously implemented Apple and Google. There is full support for natural language and, according to developers, in contrast to the “apple” product service adjusts individually to the needs of each user.

The essence of the test was the fact that all three participants were asked the same questions. Siri, Google Now and Cortana had to answer 3086 questions. Cortana, and Google Now take both written and oral questions. Nevertheless, for reasons of clarity issues voiced. Among them were as simple – “The height of the Eiffel Tower,” and more complex – “What is love?”, “Who is depicted on the banknote is 5 dollars?”, “What does a fox?”

Victory in the competition won Google Now. This is due to the fact that Google, unlike Apple, specializes in the search results. From 3086 service issues managed more or less accurate answer to 1795 – is 58%. Siri was able to correctly process the 908 questions (29%), and Cortana – only 630 (20%).

The authors of the experiment separately calculated how often the assistant gives absolutely accurate information. For example, given the question, “How old is the Great Wall of China?” Answer “It was finished in 206 BC,” and not a specific age, was considered wrong. Google Now here again won by a large margin – 88% accurate answers compared to 53% and 40% for making Apple and Microsoft.

In Stone Temple Consulting noted that, despite the objective, the study is not a scientific deep, so you need to treat it with a pinch of irony.
