Oculus Oculus Touch displays with a new feeding system




Oculus has a controller prototype shown to control the virtual reality glasses. The system is called Oculus Touch. The developer prototype called Half Moon. The main reason for going was looking for a new way of control to get hand-presence in the VR space.

As an example, one of the founders of Oculus, Palmer Luckey, that it should be possible to pick up a gun for example, in the virtual world, to use it and also to be able to throw away.

The two handsets, one for the left and one for the right hand, are each other’s mirror image and have all the way around tracking technology. They can also give the feeling to the user that a substance has a certain “slowness” of inertia. Each of these controllers on thumb joysticks, two buttons and a trigger with the index finger.

There is a vibrating motor in, making haptic feedback is given. Also, all of the fingers were to be detected at the same time. In order to test the Touch-input, bullion uses a ‘experience’ with the name Toybox. Through this system it is possible to work with others, so that interaction with other people in the same virtual space is possible.

For further demos Luckey refers to the upcoming E3, and the presentation is decided. According to a tweet Luckey, the Touch in the first half of 2016.
