OLED displays Comm smartphone LIFI technology

The company Oled Comm has shown a smartphone that can handle LIFI, a technology in which light pulses provide the data transfer. The company has also developed a dongle that can be attached. On mobile devices

That Engadget reports that a demonstration of the company during the CES trade show attended . During the demo was shown a smartphone that was equipped with a light sensor. By placing them under a special light received data, allowing for example a video could be played. Also, a tablet with the LIFI technology is shown. In addition, OLED Comm has developed a dongle with LIFI light sensor. These can be placed on the 3.5 mm input from mobile devices. So devices can be without LIFI still provide data transmission technology.

Oled Comm wants to show the demonstration that LIFI technology is ready to be used in products deployed. For this example, manufacturers of smartphones and tablets have light sensors built into their products: Oled Comm is supplying hardware and software. It is not clear which companies have plans for LIFI.

In LIFI technology sources serve as the signal for data transfer allows. This is done with ultrashort pulses of light that are not visible to the naked eye to see. Any conventional LED lamp could be transformed into LIFI transmitter: this is an elevator microcontroller needed. With the hardware shown by Oled Comm speeds up to 10 Mbit / s are achieved, though scientists have been significantly higher speeds demonstrated .
