Nearly 10 percent of all smartphone owners in the Netherlands is struggling with a damaged screen. That MultiScope claims after survey of 823 consumers with a smartphone. A broken screen is the most common defect.
One in five smartphone owners suffer from defects in his or her unit, concludes MultiScope, but the agency sees “a rapidly deflating batteries also as a defect. Yet this is not the most common problem of all defects that owners may face, concerns 39 percent rather broadly worded ‘screen damage.
In 28 percent of the reported problems, it is a rapidly deflating battery and in 8 percent of cases are the buttons that show defects. Especially young people aged 18 to 24 years suffer from damage to the screen and gives the three of them that the smartphone has problems. With over 45 is that only one in ten.
Despite the common defects, let consumers do not stop to buy a second device: one in ten smartphones in use is used. On average, Dutch consumers have a smartphone 16 months in operation. The survey was conducted among a total of 1013 consumers, but 823 of them had a smartphone.
