OneCast has released an app for iOS that allows games from an Xbox One console to be streamed to iPhones and iPads. The console and the mobile device must be connected to the same network. The app uses a 1080p stream.

The makers claim that streaming games to the iOS devices goes with very little lag , but they do not call numbers. It is possible to play the streamed games with virtual buttons on the screen, or with a physical controller. There is support for the Xbox One wireless controller and other controllers that have been approved via Apple’s MFi licensing program.

If the Xbox controller is used, the distance to the console must be small enough for the controller to be recognized. Furthermore, the developer recommends connecting the console with a network cable and using 5GHz WiFi.

OneCast asks for 12.99 euros for the iOS application . The company already had a program with the same functionality for macOS. Microsoft allows Xbox One users to officially stream games to Windows 10 devices only.
