Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus begin distributing the Android 7.1.1 update for its appliances OnePlus 3 and 3T. Thus the manufacturer seems to meet its promise to provide both phones simultaneously an update.

The update comes Thursday supported by a limited number of users and OnePlus the update will push the next few days to more and more customers, claims the manufacturer. The update is done over-the-air and there is no known way to download the update in an official way through PC and turn over the side loading on the phone.

OnePlus is to update one of the first manufacturers to offer an update to Android 7.1 after Google. Many phones do get updates, but this is often to Android 7.0. That update came late last year and early this year to the OnePlus 3 and 3T . The older OnePlus OnePlus 2 and X are still on Android 6.0.

The OnePlus 3 came in the summer of last year. In autumn, the manufacturer pulled the device from its own online shop then came the 3Q. The case of the 3T has a slightly different color, the device has a battery with higher capacity and a front camera with a higher maximum resolution. 3T has a Snapdragon 821-soc, compared with a 820 in the OnePlus 3. The manufacturer is asking for the 3T also a slightly higher price. The OnePlus 3T received in February Tweakers Award for best smartphone.
