OnePlus presents OnePlus 2

The Chinese manufacturer has presented its new device OnePlus 2. The device has a 5.5 “display with full HD resolution and uses a Snapdragon 810-soc Qualcomm. On the front is a fingerprint scanner.

Compared to the OnePlus One of last year has built in support for the manufacturer 4g on the tapes important in the Netherlands 8 and 20, the 900MHz and 800MHz. Thus, the second full OnePlus will have 4G coverage on Dutch networks. The phone also supports dualsim.

The OnePlus 2 has a 5.5 “screen with full HD resolution, with which these elements remain unchanged from its predecessor. The second does have a smaller form factor. The phone features a design that is not much different from the One with the removable back include options for Sandstone Black, Kevlar and wood. On the side is a volume control with three settings, which correspond to the volume in Android Lollipop with Silent, Priority and All messages.

The device has two variants. The cheapest version has a memory the size of 3GB and 16GB of storage, the more expensive lpddr4 has 4GB memory with 64GB of storage. The device runs on a Snapdragon 810-soc Qualcomm, a octacore with four Cortex A57- and four Cortex A53 cores.

Although the Chinese manufacturer swears that the appliance does not overheat, reached a pre-release sample in tech blogger Mkbhd a temperature of almost 48 degrees Celsius, which he is hotter than many other devices. The pre-release version of the HTC One M9 reached 55 degrees, but after a software update, the temperature was stabbing at 41.7 degrees. All tested machines were then between 39 and 43 degrees Celsius after twenty minutes running a graphics-heavy benchmark. Perhaps OnePlus for release just like HTC releases an update to keep the temperature under control.

The phone has a fingerprint scanner below the screen to unlock the phone. At the bottom of the device is a USB-port c. Which works on USB 2.0. The supplied cable is also no USB c-to-USB-C Cable, but “only” USB-A to USB-C Cable, thereby pumping data is not as fast as would be possible in theory. An extra cable costs at OnePlus five dollars. A technology to enable fast charging, like virtually supports any high-end phone in 2015, the two supported.

The camera has a maximum resolution of thirteen megapixels, has optical image stabilization and autofocus features laser to focus. The battery has a capacity of 3300mAh. The phone has unlike its predecessor no nfc, because people would not use it.

The OnePlus two runs Android Lollipop with OxygenOS, a skin of OnePlus itself with changes to Android. Like many Chinese models OxygenOS supports launch apps by drawing on the disabled screen gestures. Also included is left of the home screen, the ‘shelf’, a private screen with shortcuts OnePlus instead of Google Now.

OnePlus supplies the device from August. The cheaper version costs 339 euros, while the more expensive over the counter for 399 euros. At time of writing had some 340,000 people signed up for an invite to buy the device. OnePlus despite promises that it will continue to operate the system at issue invites, people now faster the device in hands should be able to get.
