Open Bionics comes with Deus Ex inspired bionic hand
Open Bionics will soon release a Deus Ex-based bionic hand. The aim of making the project is inexpensive, easy to produce bionic hands accessible to the general public. Before the designs are later offered open source.
Open Bionics was founded in 2014 in the UK, with the aim to develop low-cost bionic hands. It makes use of 3D scanning and 3D printing techniques. Already closed the company an agreement with Disney to bionic hands for children to design superheroes themes, such as Iron Man hand, a Star Wars Lightsaber-hand and a Frozen snow flakes hand.
Now the company has a new prosthesis in the eye and then in the form of designs inspired by the Titan Arm and Adam Arm prosthesis from Deus Ex. To make the technique in other places and other people available, Open Bionics now working together in the Augmented Future project with Eidos, Razer and Intel. Eidos as inspiration for the shape, Razer as the supplier of the Stargazer cameras, it has created in collaboration with Intel and has called Real Sense technology. Thus, the camera is able to estimate depth or to create 3-D scans.
Using Razers camera allows visitors to events like the bionic hand trying to move their own hands. The bionic hand follow the movements. Deus Ex hand will be shown for the first time to the public at E3.
Besides the goal of Open Bionics to cheap, easy to sell bionic hands for the world around two million people whose arm was amputated, the company’s actions will as the counterfeiting of ‘known’ prostheses ensure that prostheses as well as fashionable ‘ being seen.Viewing:-85
