Find a Question:
Out for Apple’s Cards App Cards
11th September 2013 Category: applesauce , iOS , Mobile , written by: Sascha Maier Easter
Apple offered the ability to send high quality greeting cards worldwide with its Cards app. Apple typically on high quality paper, not just a photo print. The price per ticket was correspondingly high. 4,99 € in Germany had to pay to send a card. The design selection was great, the cards actually had a certain premium feel. Until now, for cards no longer exists.
Opening the Cards app and tried to create a map, you will be greeted with the message that the service is no longer available. Too few users? Or not such an app fits in the portfolio of the post-Steve-Jobs-company? One explanation is certainly not like Apple, but also because it has never thrown with great numbers of cards around, the service was simply too little used.
Sent your real cards with your smartphone? I do this from time to time quite like, but usually grab back to cheaper supplier that simply send a normal postcard. Just go a very practical way and priced not necessarily more expensive than buying a postcard motif and matching stamp.

The maps of Apple took a very long time until they were actually at the receiver and with prices were about 4 euros just very expensive. There are great alternatives specializing in postcards, so for example PokaMax, holiday greeting, touch touch. PokaMax has free shipping again for Lost cards until they arrive (also, if you look at times mistyped the address). Already from 1,60 EUR maps are shipped worldwide and unlike TouchNote yet exist a comprehensive gallery 5000 motifs on the same website, which can be used in parallel. The elimination of Cards App is not surprising. The product has not consistently pursued at Apple.
