About two years ago we saw the first curved TVs appear on the market and since then most makes one or more curved TVs in their model range. Panasonic did until recently not with them, but because curved models are more expensive than flat and moreover nice sell is the Japanese brand this year changed their minds and yet now are bent models for sale. We see in this review, the top model, the 55 “-CR850.

With a price of around 2900 euros for the 55 “model and some 4,200 euros for the 65” variant is the CR850 certainly not cheap TV, but for that money you get some back. The housing is almost entirely made of metal and is very nicely finished. There is also a double tuner and there are two CI + -sloten so, if you connect a hard disk, you can watch one channel while recording another.

The television run on Firefox OS. This open source operating system based on Linux offers easy operation. You get two luxury remotes from: an infrared remote control which is equipped with lights for use at night and a Touch Pad Controller is equipped with a microphone for voice commands. The CR850 can display 3D, but the necessary active glasses are not included.

This TV is equipped with a curved uhd panel, which includes a backlight with local dimming is. This gives the Panasonic TV as a ‘Supreme contrast’ and moreover it is a ‘Super bright panel “that will provide a high maximum brightness. Whether this TV which makes the promises made by Panasonic, will appear from our measurements.
