Panasonic DXW804 UHDTV Review – Beautiful image and sound in a unique design
The Panasonic DXW804 has already sent a gorgeous image with good color reproduction and high maximum brightness, the latter when looking at what HDR deficit. The sound may be there, because thanks to the included soundbar this model sounds very good. Firefox OS works nice but is unfortunately what development is a little quiet. The main plus or minus of this TV is the design. This is so pronounced that you find it either very pretty either very ugly.

If you look at how the design of televisions has developed in recent years, the main trends are becoming flatter housing and becoming narrower bezels around the screen. Because all manufacturers pursue the same ideals, are televisions more and more alike and are the outward differences increasingly are in subtle details. We think it is always good to see a manufacturer consider doing something totally different. The DXW804 Panasonic, which we see in this review, is a television appearance that differs substantially from the norm.
The DXW804 is actually the German version of the DX800, which in terms of hardware and appearance is the same. Panasonic has chosen to supply the German version in the Netherlands and Belgium, as would suit it better here than the European model. It is in any case nothing except the model number, noting that it is a German model. There are two sizes available: 50 and 58 inches, the smallest at the time of writing for about 2100 euros in PriceWatch state and large, we viewed, should yield about 2,600 euros.
There is no normal foot below the screen, but instead, this TV has a ‘Freestyle design’, which amounts to a standard that is at the sides with two triangles in which the screen is suspended. You also get a soundbar with, loosely placed under the TV and features speakers with a total power of 40W. In addition to a luxury infrared remote control, you also get a Touch Pad Controller, which is equipped with a microphone for voice commands.
Panasonic promises a very good picture quality, thanks to the Studio Master HCX 4K processor, which was developed by the same developers as those previously responsible for the plasma TVs of the brand. This allows the color to be very precisely expired. Also promised a “superior contrast ‘and a wide color spectrum. Whether these claims are true made apparent in this review.
