Panasonic GoPro competitor shooting 4K video at 25fps




The Japanese manufacturer Panasonic has presented a small camcorder that can make 4K videos at 25fps. Competitor GoPro also shoot 4K video, but at 15fps. The Panasonic camcorder has two parts, connected by a cable.

The part with the lens weighs 31 grams and is elongated, allowing users to confirm or to the body, including in the head by a non-included, but available accessory. The camcorder has electronic image stabilization.

The other part has include a 1.5 “LCD with a resolution of 480×240 pixels and weighs 131 grams. In the housing includes a WiFi chip for the transfer and streaming of images. The connection is made via NFC. by connecting the camcorder to live stream to a smartphone. The device is waterproof and has a IPX8 rating, which it should be able to one meter depth. thirty minutes under water, the two components of the camcorder are connected via a cable.

The camcorder records images at 4k with 25fps, while images at 1080p resolution can make with 50fps and 720p at 100fps. For slow motion The GoPro Hero3 + can take pictures at up to 15fps with a 4K resolution, but consists of only one part.

The camcorder from Panasonic to come out in May. The Dutch division has no price announced, but in the UK is the retail price of around 450 euros converted.
