Panasonic: this year appear first televisions with Firefox OS
Panasonic brings this year’s first televisions with Firefox OS, as the company announced Monday at CES. Last year, the already familiar with Firefox maker Mozilla will work with televisions.
In a press release late Monday Panasonic know that this spring televisions deliver with Firefox OS. It is called Life + Screen Smart TVs, where the X850 series, CX800, CX650 and CX600 covered. It is not clear when the televisions appear exactly and for what price. Nor is it known whether the devices come to Europe.
Panasonic and Firefox maker Mozilla made exactly one year ago Firefox OS known to want to bring smart TVs. Initially the plan was to release the TVs last year, but the release was delayed for unknown reasons thereof.
In addition, Panasonic claims that Firefox OS the right operating system for consumers. “You can add photos, videos and other content from any smartphone, tablet or computer to send a Firefox browser or compatible programs to the Firefox OS television. This means that consumers are not tied to one ecosystem or brand,” the company said in the press release.
Panasonic televisions in the rest of the listed models series this year from voice control. In the series-CX850 is additionally incorporated an assistant, called Voice Assistant Pro, which works with voice control, and wherein it is not necessary to use a remote control. According to Panasonic, you can switch channels or instance thus be searched for content.
Finally, Panasonic builds every Life + screen television called Xumo-guide. This is a service that allows content to be searched via different sources. In addition, the service provides recommendations for movies and series based on the viewing habits. Users can also search for specific titles in multiple apps, or browse by genre at different rag services.
