Panasonic will again make Technics Direct Drive Turntables
Technics will in 2016 again with a new turntable for dj’s, which reported parent company Panasonic at the IFA. It is a so-called “direct drive turntable” of aluminum. The design is from scratch rebuilt with new parts in all areas.
This will be the successor to the legendary Technics SL-1200, the last of which was produced in 2010. The appearance of the new turntable must “respect” the pastor, says Panasonic in its press release.
Much is still unknown about the turntable, however, that it will use a direct-drive mechanism. This means that the plateau where the vinyl chatted, is the rotor. The rotor is made up of magnets and given a rotating movement by the stator. The stator is made up of coils and is attached to the housing. The stator ensures by generating magnetic force in the induction coils, that the rotor to rotate. The stator Technics says to use is coreless, leaving virtually no “cogging” should occur. The bushing is used oiled, which should provide for minimum vibration caused by the rotation. The prototype has no arms or other elements yet.
Real details are lacking about the pickup that should come out in 2016. One of the reasons that Panasonic gives for the development of a new turntable, that the demand for analog turntables and ditto music more and more increasing, in particular in the European, Japanese and North American markets. Panasonic Technics in 2014 ge-rebrand into a luxury audio brand.Viewing:-132
