A study conducted by the company “Canon Middle East” specializing in the field of imaging solutions that more than two-thirds of parents in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) find in the social media tools to communicate positive, while one-third of children believed that the use of these methods involves inherent risks. According to a study, “Canon”, in which he requested from participants fill out a special form to assess their views on the use of social media, it has shown a large majority of parents (43%) refusing to publish photos on the platforms of social networking, such as “Facebook”, while preferably all children by 100 % raise pictures of these sites. The 71% of parents expressed a preference to use phones to communicate with friends and relatives, followed by the use of text messages and e-mail by 57%, and the site “Facebook” by 50%, and “Skype” by 21%. It is surprising that none of the children in the study does not use the site “Facebook” to communicate with others.

And asked, “Canon” of the participants in the study naming social networking sites they use regularly; won sites “Facebook” and “Twitter” and “LinkedIn”, and “Anstagram” ranked first by the parents. The study showed that the emergence of smart phones contributed to the increase outreach activities via social media, as all the participants (100%) use their smart phones to take pictures, while 64% of them prefer to use the camera and smartphones alike.

The seminar came in the framework of preparations for the establishment of summer camps for Neil ICDL computer, which will be hosted by a group of universities and educational centers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) during the months of July and August next.
