Pebble brings first version of firmware 4.0 in late August

Pebble is planning to version 4.0 of the firmware for its smart watches to release in late August. The hardware maker tells developers which watch faces and apps that are made for 4.0 to test from the end of August on real hardware.

Pebble Wednesday called the sdk 4.0 line put , but which only contains emulators. It is unknown to what models 4.0 the first to be tested. The Pebble Time 2 only comes out in November and the Pebble 2 in September.

In version 4.0 has the Pebble Timeline who introduced partly removed in 3.0. The feature has been removed to look into the past via Timeline. Instead comes Timeline Peek, which can superimpose apps notifications on the watch face. It also supports 4.0 App Glance, which apps in the launcher to display a line of information.

Version 4.0 is the first that is not compatible with each pebble. The first generation Pebble and Pebble Steel not get the update. The Pebble Time, Time Steel and Time Round does. At the same time the manufacturer has a gold and silver version of the Time Round on Kickstarter with the release of the preview of the SDK put . Customers pay $ 199 for the new variant, which contains the same hardware as the current one.
