Pebble: New app version 4.3 plus new firmware for Android and iOS

Pebble has released both a new app and a new firmware for its Pebble 2 and Time Smartwatches. As a highlight, the manufacturer emphasizes a new watchface called kickstart, which is not only a reference to the crowdfunding origins of the wearable, but also to give a certain push for the day. The new kickstart watchface provides an overview of counted steps, the step progress for the day and also the heart rate. The latter, of course, only on the models, which also integrate a corresponding sensor. Oh, the time is also displayed on the Kickstart-Watchface.

The new Pebble app is already available on Google Play as well as in the Apple App Store – also in Germany. In the release notes of the app the manufacturer notes for iOS users next to the new Kickstart-Watchface that there is now a Sneak Peek on the reminders / reminders. This is meant by speech, which can also be synchronized with the smartphone. Actual but unfortunately only in English language. In addition, there are now the so-called “Heart Rate Zones”. Those can show over a week in stages, when you have been particularly active. Android users also benefit from the Heart Rate Zones and the kickstart watchface, as well as numerous bug fixes and performance improvements, but they have to do without the voice memorabilia.

As far as the firmware is concerned, it should work faster than older versions. Compatible is the firmware 4.3 with the Pebble 2, Time, Time Steel and Time Round. For the Classic series, there is instead the firmware 3.12.3, which however only behind the scenes the stability and performance improves. It is available for the Pebble Classic and Steel. Thanks to the new firmware, it is now also possible to capture the pulse via third-party apps on the current generation’s pebble. As an example, Pebble calls itself Runkeeper. Even in workouts with the live presentation of the current data, the heart rate can now be integrated through fitness apps.

You can find the new app versions, as already mentioned, already in the Google Play Store and / or in Apples App Store. Correspondingly, you can also update your firmware already, to the new functions then synonymous to cost.
