performance of the new Mac Mini will surprise you

For a long time, the Mac Mini line was unfairly deprived of attention from Apple. Only four years later, the company decided to submit an updated version of its compact computer. According to representatives of the corporation, the Mac Mini processor is five times faster than its predecessor, and the integrated graphics are now 60% more productive than the previous generation models. Western resources have already managed to get hold of a novelty and test a computer in the famous Geekbench 4 benchmark. Let’s take a look at the results.

The Mac Mini configuration with a 6-core Intel Core i7-8700B processor and 32 GB of RAM participated in the preliminary tests. The results were as follows.

As shown by the first tests, the speed of the new Mac Mini should not disappoint users. In the single-core test, the computer scored 5512 points, and in the multi-core test – 23516. The novelty is comparable to the basic version of Mac Pro, in configurations with 6- and 8-core Intel Xeon processors. This is definitely an impressive result.

It was possible to achieve greater performance gains thanks to the fast Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 processors of the eighth generation. Depending on the configuration, the Mac Mini can be equipped with a four- or six-core chip. The DDR4 SO-DIMM format with a frequency of 2666 MHz and up to 64 GB is used as RAM. Unfortunately, Apple’s nettop did not receive a discrete video card, and it comes with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics. Like all recent MacBook Pro models, the Mac Mini also has a special Apple T2 processor that responds to security and other tasks.

Sales of the updated Apple compact computer should start on November 7th. True, in Russia the Mac Mini will appear a little later, presumably at the end of November. The cost of a nettop starts from 68 990 rubles for a model with an Intel Core i3 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD drive.
