Personal 191 million registered US voters leak
A database containing the data of 191 million US registered voters is open to anyone who knows the host’s IP address. The database contains information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and if and when electors have voted or not.
The data leak was reported at Databreaches.net researcher Chris Vickery, who recently also draining the data of 3.3 million Hello Kitty fans brought to light. The leak could have arisen by a configuration error. The database contains the data required of voters when they register to vote. In addition to names, addresses, telephone numbers and a log of the voting behavior, the database also contains birth dates, gender, ethnicity, any party commitment, email addresses and more. The database does not contain financial data, social security numbers, or information about who the voter voted in the past. The entire file would be 300GB in size and contain the details of each registered American voter, writes Forbes. The date range of the data is from 2000 to early 2014, according to an analysis of CSO Online.
Research and CSO Online Databreaches.net would reveal that the data originally came from Nation Builder. This is clear from the structure of the database. Nation Builder is a business that can be hired to support presidential election campaigns, among other things like websites, fundraising, e-mail advertising campaigns, and free voter information. The company extracts the voter data in turn by the various US states, which have different conditions appoint and limitations, and charging for. The company denies that it is responsible for the database leak out. Possible responsibility therefore lies with a currently unknown client Nation Builder.

On Monday, the database was still to reach.Viewing:-179
