Philips and Nintendo enter into licensing deal to use each other’s patents
Philips and Nintendo say they have spoken all mutual patent issues. In addition, the two companies have signed a worldwide patent agreement. Earlier Philips was in four countries patent issues started against alleged patent violations by Nintendo.
With the agreement , Philips promises all patent cases that strike against Nintendo started immediately. The two companies are due to patent licensing deal on each other’s patents. Or Nintendo has paid compensation to Philips, is not clear.
Nintendo has infringed two patents of Philips. A patent describes registering movements of players and then processing in a game. Another patent relating to the display of a user interface on the basis of a comparable device with the Wii Remote.
Philips had patent cases are in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the United States. According to the electronics manufacturer Nintendo had several Philips patents infringed by the Wii and Wii consoles and DS handheld. In June won Philips in the UK a patent case against Nintendo.Viewing:-145
